Where's Noah?

There he is!

I can see you...

There you are!

Here, have a donut.

Yum!

Noah and I went to a consignment sale today, and bought him some new toys. Then we went home, and he showed me that the toys we already have are just great.

I don't think he'll complain about the new ones, though...

mind blowing

Please observe the toddler sitting in my safely enclosed kitchen playing with Noah's blocks.

This is a kid who can go from sitting to crawling and back again whenever he wants, and pulls himself up to his knees whenever he gets the chance. He practiced rocking back and forth on his knees for a month and then exploded into some kind of small child who can turn the pages of a board book and clap on command. My mind is blown. Seriously, kid. You can slow down. It's ok.

misc.

Even without the crazy crawling, we had a really fun weekend. We walked to a new set of swings:

(I don't know what's going on with the munchkin hair here)

We had a great time swimming at Erica's house. Noah got to use his borrowed floater again, which he loves.

(I forgot his hat. And he's too young to complain that he looks silly when I tie a shirt on his head instead).

And then I put a towel on his head.

This evening, Noah crawled over to pick up his book.

He then proceeded to read it to us.

For about 10 minutes.

Movement II

Lock up the... well, the everything. The kid gets more mobile by the hour.

Note to self: stop talking during videotaping. You sound like a deranged kindergarten teacher.

Movement

Seeya Wall-E - mommy's over there with the flashing shiny thing...

I think I can...

I think I can...

I'm almost there...

Got it!

Yes folks, Noah has gone from being very very close to mobile, to being actually mobile. He's not very mobile, mind you. Each crawl-like movement is proceeded by lots of rocking and complaining and it's a bit awkward and jumpy, but as of now he can cross such vast distances as the yoga mat in order to knock down a tower of blocks. Or go visit the cat. Please enjoy the following, in which Entropy is totally unimpressed by the rocking, yelling baby, until he figures out to crawl to her. Also please don't be alarmed by the hacking cough. I don't think Noah can give Entropy his day care cold.

Very exciting times here at 19ssg.

Everybody loves a baby

We went over to our friends' house for dinner last night and had a great time. Noah got to spend some time as the center of attention:

But Noah spent most of the time (and I'm sorry we don't have any pictures of this) fascinated by 3 year old Jack. At one point Jack was jumping like a frog and Noah was on all fours watching him, laughing as hard as I've ever heard. It was like a dream cone true for Noah - another kid AND lots of bouncing!

Badger Bib

Noah is rocking his short haircut, though he does have a bunch of banana mango on the badger bib...

Also, Noah would like to tell you a story.

And now for the punchline...

Noah would also like to introduce you to his friend, Wall-E.

And we hope you appreciate his yummy baby cheeks.

(Noah's cheeks, not Wall-E's)

Hairy situation

Today we did some shopping, and Noah got to ride in the cart for the first time.

I think he liked it.

We also tried out the umbrella stroller today. The view isn't as good from down there... If only we had some toys or something Noah could play with so he'd feel less lonely...

Now I want to bring your attention to a more serious topic. You may be aware that Noah has some crazy hair.

I usually describe it as 1970s old man hair, others say it is like baby peyes.

Both may be accurate.

Or maybe crazed clown hair.

Often it looks pretty cute, which is why we haven't cut it so far. The problem is, there are only like three pieces that are long and curly. The rest is very short and blond. Often these pieces are totally out of control, for example when Noah is on the swings and his mad scientist hair is flapping in the breeze.

At any rate, now they're gone.

It was kind of a hack job, because I don't know what I'm doing. We will have too see what it looks like in the morning...

Now if only I knew what to do about another crazy hair situation here at casa Pytel...

Visitors!

Saba and Nana came to visit this weekend, much to our delight.

Nice hats huh?

Tania also came to visit, much to our delight. Noah loved her!! Unfortunately, she did not have a matching hat, so she did not get her picture taken.

Noah is unsure about the face Nana is making:

Actually never mind, it's ok:

We had a nice chat with auntie D in the morning:

And played in the pool in the afternoon:

Then mommy and daddy took advantage of free babysitting and went on a date. Overall, the perfect Saturday!
