Team Art

I came upstairs this morning to find them both working at the easel.

Apparently they are drawing the world'a largest longest squiggliest noodles.

My favorite part is how they draw for a bit, then stop and discuss what colors each should use next, then get back to drawing.  Pretty cute stuff.

Ta Dah!!

Hey, look at our new kitchen!!

Pretty sweet, huh?

With appliances made during this century and everything.

And, in my opinion, the world's coolest dining room chandelier.

(Also pictured: salt dough menorahs, drying in anticipation of being painted tomorrow)

Just in case you forgot, this is what we had before:

Life is good :)

Countertops!

Hey, look at that sweet countertop!!

(note new skinnier fridge that only sticks out a few inches and will go all the way back after plumbing)

Also those nasty window frames are all primed for white paint...

Not bad for a Saturday...

More groovin'

I am not sure I am able to convey just how much time we spent dancing with our shadows.  Luckily I got some on video...

Science Museum

Noah and Eva and I had a great afternoon at the Boston Museum of Science.  Turns out it is WAY better to go at 3pm on a Saturday than 10am when every tourist in New England is there.

Chillin with Kinetic Sculpture

Chillin with T-rex

Groovin with multi-colored shadows

Still groovin

AAAAAAAAH MY HEAD IS GIGANTIC

Better take a rest and go home in the space capsule

Plaster

Still moving forward, now that the plaster is in our walls look more like walls...

Can't wait to see it all painted!

More Birthdays

We went to Mema and Oompa's house last weekend for Cassidy and Christian's birthday party.  First, Eva established the security of her space ship by using a the water gun to shoot at the lava.

I can't decide if this picture is adorable or deeply disturbing

Then Maggie the Clown arrived and thrilled the kids with face painting, magic and juggling

Spiderman!

And balloon hats and swords

I'm not sure how true to character these accessories are, but they sure are awesome

I have a doggie on my hat!!

It was colorful and hilarious and awesome

And then we went inside and had cake and ice cream, and as usually happens at these events Eva remained dedicated to her ice cream long after the other kids had gone outside and the grown-ups had started to clean up.

She knows what she likes, ok?

Halloween!!

This halloween, we had some scary witches at our house.  Noah was the wicked witch of the west, and Eva was the wicked witch of the east.

Happy scary witches

Scary scary witches

Thank you to Grammy for making the witch costumes, and even making me a Dorothy apron

(if only the real Dorothy could have gotten along this well with the witches)

First we left our witches cave

And did some trick-or-treating with some friends in Newton Highlands

From left: Wicked witch of the South, Fairy ballet princess, Fairy ballet princess, WW of West, WW of East.  I guess this is an unlikely coalition, but dire times and candy can bring people together...

And then went back to Ollie and Max's house for dinner and more trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.

From left: Lawnmower, Ariel, Racecar Driver, Pumpkin, WWs.  I suppose this diverse crew is no better...

It was a much-anticipated and much enjoyed evening, and we have enough candy to last for the rest of the year.

More progress (sort of)

The cabinets are hung, and on Friday the appliances arrived!

Hello, I am new fancy stove

Hello, we are new fancy dishwasher and microwave, in new fancy bubble wrap

But there was a small problem with the fridge

Hello, I am new fancy fridge, way too deep for your space, don't you feel like an idiot for not double-checking the dimensions.

So we had them come back and take it back to the store today.  Hopefully the thinner replacement will arrive before the kitchen is completed.

I will remain a gaping hole to remind you of your foolishness!!
