Noah goes to Lowes

Noah takes after his Grammy Sue and likes to help work on the house. He particularly likes the part where helping means going to the Hardware store.

He helped us pick out a faucet for the downstairs bathroom.

Does this kit include the drain assembly?

He likes to help push the cart

Pretty far cry from last year, where Noah would snooze away in the baby carrier when we went to Home Depot, huh.

Just before ckeck-out, Noah offered some advice about a drill bit.

But the sad part is that even after all his help, Daddy refused to let him play with the new saw.

Maybe next year.

Box

Daddy got a small package today from Amazon.com. I left the box on the floor, expecting Noah to have fun putting something in it.

Apparently he chose himself.

Eh, the view from here is ok.

And the labeling is interesting.

But I think I'll bust myself out of here.

And then maybe try again...

Noah says good morning

I was trying to capture the thing he did three times before this: dropping his sippy cup on the ground, then looking up at me and saying "uh oh." Oh well, this is almost as cute.

Ed. Note: after posting this video I showed it to Noah (he is still sitting in his high chair working on his breakfast). When he saw himself onscreen he gave a big "Hi!!" and then proceeded to bob back and forth with the video. We are just oozing with cuteness here this morning.

Haircut!!

Today I took Noah and his unruly hair to a proffesional.

He was unimpressed.

But we left with a spiffy new haircut, with him looking more like a boy (as opposed to a baby) then ever.

Of course, after his nap it became aparent that even a professional is no match for the cowlick...

Luckily it's a cute one.

Misc.

Chad is off to Boston for the week this morning, but the suitcase had a little cat hair problem. Luckily, Noah was there to take care of things.

It's neat that he has really started to get what different tools are for. Chad used the lint roller, then left the room and left the lint roller on the table. Noah walked over, whined until I gave him the lint roller and then proceeded to gently roll it on the suitcase.

In other news, Noah is recently obsessed with sitting on the couch.

And has been working on his version of Blue Steel.

I expect the magazines to start calling anytime...

party time, party duex

We had a bunch of Noah's friends and their parents over for a playgroup in Noah's honor, and brought all of Noah's toys out for their enjoyment. There was a lot of cuteness at this party.

Unfortunately, it was hard to capture how busy it was because our house has small rooms and walls.

Let's just say with a crowd of ~30 and almost all of Noah's toys in use at one point or another, it was a kicking party. And because I didn't take enough pictures of the party, I present the aftermath instead:

Eh, not that different from a regular Sunday afternoon around here. Thus concludes Noah's birthday festivities for 2010. Happy Birthday Kiddo!!!

Party Time! Excellent!

We celebrated Noah's birthday with the family this past weekend with fun with construction paper and bright blue icing.

First, the adults had to test out the crayons.

In order to properly decorate.

The cousins then took over coloring responsibilities to decorate their crowns.

A special thank you to Christopher, for coloring Noah's crown for him.

What a good looking bunch! Also, no, Noah does not want to put down his rice cake.

There were lots of exciting activities, such as air hockey.

Reading new books

And opening some presents!

Wow. That's some present.

Noah wanted to help provide the music

And let me assure you, it was excellent. Also, let me say a small thank you to Yamaha for equipping the Clavinova with a volume control.

For dinner, Noah presided over a spread of his favorite foods.

Mmmm... chicken nuggets and soycotach.

And frozen peas. And bananas.

Man, he's cute in that crown, huh. He made my day by wearing it most of the afternoon.

Then we blew his mind with a candle.

And asked him to eat a cupcake.

Hmmmm... what's this?

It doesn't make much noise...

Is it food?

Nooooo! It is not food!! Get it out!!

[unfortunately not pictured: Noah making a horrible face and trying to scrape his first bite of icing off of his tongue]

Is this your idea of a joke?

Well, maybe I could reconsider...

Nope. Definitely not food. Fingerpaint.

Yup yup yup, Fingerpaint

Dum de dum dum

OK, this is starting to get a bit sticky...

OK GET IT OFF MY HANDS NOW

Once we were all cleaned up, we got to have a try at the ice cream. That went a little better. But then again, he is always excited when he gets to try to use a spoon.

What a wonderful celebration of such a great milestone! Happy Birthday Noah!!!
