Noah's favorite: Down by the station!
announced Eva, coming into the room with her special helmet on
But then Noah decided to show her how the stern knight face is done.
We went to our friend Charlotte's birthday party. Everybody got their fingernails painted ladybug style
Noah and Matthew had a special big boy dining table
It was all ladybugs as far as the eye can see
And the bright red icing was a total hit
On a typical day, we spend lots of time outside coloring,
being covered in chalk
And being totally silly
THIS IS HAPPENING PEOPLE
Today Noah got a real bike, with pedals
And he rode it all the way to the playground and most of the way back (up the hill)
And Eva rode her bike most of the way also.
(considerably slower)
With so much experience on the balance bike, Noah really picked up the big bike quickly. The pedaling part was a bit of a challenge, though... and breaking by pedaling backward kind of blew his mind.
But with help from Chad, he got it.
(here he is, stopping before a driveway just like he is supposed to do)
Eva was impressed. Can you tell?
Last weekend we spent the day in the sun at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary. We saw about a million turtles sunning themselves.
The kids did some "fishing"
(by "fishing" I mean sticking sticks into the water and waving them around)
And posed for a picture in the woods.
What an awesome day.
Thanks to Saba, we have some more pictures of the wolves and the wolves-in-the-making.
They were very serious during the application and quite ferocious afterward.
The kids loved loved loved the water park
While in Niagara Falls we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. In addition to having an indoor water park (no pictures of this from the iPhone, since I kept that as far away from the water park as possible. Maybe some shots from Saba (who was braver) later) this place had lots of fun stuff for the kids. At dinner one night, all four of them had their faces painted like wolves.
Of course, they then scattered like... well... preschoolers. So we don't have a picture of all four, but here are two of the pack...
We then spent the rest of the evening, of course, howling.
So Niagara falls is pretty cool
Especially Eva, who was "freezing cold"
But once we got her gloves on she was into it. All of the kids loved the falls, and loved running around after each other like lunatics. All in all, a great way to spend a rainy morning at an amazing landmark.
