Walking along...

We just got back from a great visit with the Granby crew for Thanksgiving. It included another milestone - Noah's first trip to the ER. Luckily it wasn't an emergency, just a double ear infection, and there is no other way to see a doctor the day after Thanksgiving. Poor little guy.

In other news, Noah learned how to do something new this week...

Seriously. I am amazed by him every day.

Tupperware Party Hat

I am not exactly sure what we should be teaching Noah at this stage. Probably sign language, colors, numbers, where his nose is, you get the idea. We have not taught him these things. Instead, we have been teaching him that putting things on your head is funny.

I would like to add that I did nothing to encourage this little game. I was reading something, turned around, and that's what he was doing.

Sigh. So proud.

I thought it sounded a little quiet in there...

So I leave the room for a second to use the bathroom and come back to find Noah hosting a Tupperware party.

Clever boy. Maybe we shouldn't have gone for the discount baby locks..

A little Johnnie Walker in the evening after dinner

Noah surprised us this evening by standing up and taking several steps all on his own! We got the camera and sent him back and forth a few times.

We didn't quite get the best ones on video, but the next time you see him he'll probably be running around.

Steps

We tried to play with walking in the same way we inspired some excellent crawling. Of course, in order to get that to work we would have had to set the blocks more than one step away from him...

But did you see the two steps to get to me? He is definitely making progress...

Bruiser

Noah had another INCIDENT at day care today, resulting in the bruise on his left cheek.

Though it was much less glamorous than last time. Apparently he slipped on a book and banged his face against the shelf. Though the shiner was impressive, he was fine in a few minutes. I am getting the feeling that he is going to be a kid who falls down a lot as he learns to walk and run.

Also, Noah would like to show you how he can play peek-a-boo.

Where's Noah?

There he is!!

Also, he would like to show you how he can make the "wah wah wah" noise by patting his hand against his mouth.

Clearly, some kind of fine motor skill genius. Also, I am totally not biased.

10 months!

Hey - Noah turned 10 months yesterday!! We have now entered the age of unbearable cuteness.

Tonight Chad and Noah read many many books. Noah would cruise over to the coffee table, choose a book (if necessary, discarding a book in order to choose the book underneath), hand it to Chad, then cruise back to go up on his lap and read.

Rinse and repeat.

We also had lots of fun preparing for tonight's bath.

And fun in the bath...

And fun after the bath, where Noah just cracks himself up.

And for his last feat of cuteness, Noah would like to show you his impersonation of a turtle.

Fall

It was a lovely weekend this weekend, perfect for walking around in the leaves.

And a chat with Grammy, who came up to help while I was laying on the couch icing my knee.

I guess I don't have anything clever to add

Just that man, leaves are interesting.

And fall is nice here in the tropics.

Corn Maze!

A few weeks ago (long time, no blog, I realize) Noah accompanied us through a corn maze.

While the maze was not so impressive (not as much corn as I would have expected), the company was good, the day was beautiful, and the timing was perfect for peek-a-boo.

Oh, did I mention Noah plays peek-a-boo? Where he is in charge of the peeking?

And the hiding?

And the booing?

It is almost too adorable.

Also, Noah got to meet some chickens. Yay chickens!

Daddy, did you see the chickens!?

Again with the box

I know, I know. It's just that we keep getting things in boxes, and it's so much fun to play with the box..

Seriously? You're sticking me in the box again? When exactly is this going to get old?

Oh wait... what's this? The box is sideways and suddenly interesting...

I'm through!!

Today we took our big boy to the doctor for his well visit and H1N1 shot (yay! He got it!).

His stats are as follows:
Weight = 22lb 14.5 oz (76th percentile)
Height = 29.5 inches (77th percentile)
Head = 18 inches (53rd percentile)

And he was declared perfectly perfect.

Duh!

Driving on

Watch out cats, the baby can steer!

He can steer, but it may be more fun to just power through.

Halloween

So I owe you all a few posts, huh.

Sorry about that. Let's just say the past week or so has been a mess of switching day cares and busy every night and traveling and teething and daylight savings time and I have been trying my damndest to go to bed at 8:30 and quack quack quack.

Also, whoever invented daylight savings time did not have small children. In fact, I am pretty sure they hated small children and invented it specifically to punish their parents.

Anyway, quack.

So with those excuses out of the way, let me tell you about how much fun we had at Halloween in Granby! We celebrated Christian's birthday with BALLOONS!!

BALLOONS!!!

Also, a pretty sweet Scoobie Doo cake.

Noah got to eat some pizza, which was a hit.

Please note, I have tried to feed him pizza on several occasions and he wouldn't touch it. I had basically given up on his having a normal (pizza-filled) childhood until Saturday, when I tried giving him the whole honkin piece. Apparently that was what was missing.

After dinner, it was time to get ready for trick-or-treating.

What a good-looking group of cousins!

Even though Noah loved the costume before, he seemed more skeptical this time around. He didn't seem to mind the hat at all, but was a bit confused about the whole process...

Hey man, watch the ear!

Do you ever get the feeling that something bad is creeping up behind you?

And now I present the worst picture ever taken of Noah. And that includes the pictues taken imemdiately after his birth.

Bad pictures aside, he really did seem to like trick-or-treating. There was lots of laughing and pointing as we walked around.

Then we loaded sleepy yoda into the car...

And off to bed. Mmmmm, sweet dreams of candy and balloons, he has.
