Watch out, they're on the loose
aaaaaaaah!!
Eva was clomp clomping down the hall, wearing my shoes and announcing "here comes Mommy! Me pretending me are mommy!!"
Big happenings at our house this week - Noah wrote his first sentence on his own. While he was in his room by himself during rest time he made the card below for Grammy. Previously, he's only written his name or Eva's by himself, everything else he demands we tell him how to spell.
We've been making him sound it out himself, I guess it is working and he is getting a bit more confident.
At any rate, the card says "Noah I Li U" (translation: Noah I love you)
(translation: he is really just trying to say "I love you" but begins every piece of work with "Noah")
(of course it is written entirely backwards, but hey, ANYONE's kid can write a sentence in the correct direction. You go ahead and write a mirror image of a sentence and see how well you do)
(and the thing on the bottom is a big toothy smile that was "so happy he had to be all colored in")
(I die :) )
Noah, looking at the picture of the Milky Way that is the default computer background...
"Look at that - that's outer space! I can't wait until I'm an astronaut when I'm a grown up and I can go there"
(That was where my engineer heart felt happy and proud)
"I'm going to go there, go into the computer and you will see me there"
(That was when my engineer heart felt a bit concerned...)
Noah made his friend Rafe the most awesome present for his birthday.
(of course, not too hot, but still sugary and delicious)
Must be a special occasion
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Turns out Noah is old enough to actually sled. Chad took him to the nearby elementary school and he was awesome.
We had a second party with the cousins, which basically just meant the cousins played with all the birthday presents
So basically, the best party ever.
... conversation heard while making valentines while daddy was out at a work event...
N: Daddy is going to love these valentines
E: yeah, we making them
N: let's make him so happy he's going to hug us
E: yeah, he's gonna be soooooo happy
N: yeah, that's definitely going to happen.
... quiet work ..
N: I am making a lot of hearts. Daddy is going to love these hearts
E: we make him so happy, Daddy is going to hug us. We say huggy huggy huggy.
N: daddy is going to love these hearts because they are red and that's his favorite color
..... quiet work ....
Mommy: almost time for bath, guys!
N: I am really busy right now. I can't talk to anyone right now I'm so busy.
.... quiet work....
N: I care about daddy.
... quiet work...
N: Daddy is going to love these hearts. Look how many hearts I have!
M: that's great kiddo! Are you almost done? It's two minutes until bathtime.
N: I need this much more time (holds hands about 4 inches apart)
M: well that's about two minutes
N: um... Yes. That's how much more time I need.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. :)
We had a princess and knight birthday party to kick off the party season. There was diligent preparation...
We transformed our door into a castle
But then we were ready to party
And the collaboration of knights began
Silly boys
It was quite the scene
Happy kids
There was a fire-breathing dragon cake, which was only confused for a drunken alligator occasionally
mmmmmmm alligators
and there characters are off to play some more
Yay Birthdays!!
And it took us a while to dig ourselves out...
It wasn't so easy for the grown-ups to walk
but we cut through eventually
It was awesome to see Noah managing the deep snow so well
Then we had to actually dig ourselves out and find the car. I thought I had left it in the driveway somewhere...
Best weekend snow ever. :)
